Hi, I’m Peter Comeau and my mission, with this blog, is to help you start your own online business, working from the comfort of your own home or, as I do, from anywhere in the world that there is an internet connection.

Which is why I’m called The Laptop Marketer.

Take it from someone who has started four successful businesses, two of them in manufacturing and two online. Talk is cheap, practical experience is invaluable.

Of course I’ve made mistakes along the way, it’s part of growing your business, but I’ve never let that hold me back from forging onwards towards success.

What I learned was that dealing with physical goods, having an office, managing employees, dealing with inventory, customer complaints and product servicing, not to mention the costs of office and factory space and the equipment that goes with those, is a pain you can do without.

I found, to my great relief, that an online business brings you one of the biggest assets you can have – personal freedom.

Running an online business from a laptop allows you to travel the world, knowing that you can keep your income flowing no matter where you are or what time zone you are in. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

The crazy thing is that my first online business was a disaster.

I started it ten long years ago, dabbling with learning affiliate marketing at first, then expanding that into selling digital products from a marketplace website.

Like a lot of people I was lured by the strike it rich crew – it had to be as easy as they said, didn’t it?

Like heck it was. I learned a tough lesson and nearly lost the shirt off my back into the bargain.

As I realise now, my early successes dissolved into nothing because I didn’t know what I was doing.

You see I was struggling to do it all on my own, turning down many wrong and dead end streets.

Looking back I wish I’d realised that I needed a coach. Someone who could show me where I was going wrong and the right path to follow.

By the time I did realise that I was in a desperate situation.

Reaching retirement I found that the pension plans, on which I had literally been banking to pay off the mortgage in our house, had all failed.

And, then, the crunch came. The firm for which I was working as a design consultant cut my contract in half.

Frankly I was facing retirement without enough income and the bank was threatening foreclosure on our house.

What to do?

Can you imagine the pain, the sleepless nights, the ulcerating stress that this situation was causing?

And fight is what I did. After a lot of wasted time and a small fortune in money, I finally found a coach and a strategy that turned my fortunes around.
